These aspects have kept the film popular with audiences today, and fans of this lovable character may want to know how to draw Bambi. We’re here to find out, so we recommend reading the guide to the end!

How to Draw Bambi

Step 1

To start this guide on how to draw Bambi, let’s start by drawing his head.

Bambi is drawn in classic Disney style and has realistic proportions despite being an animated film.

For his head, we’ll start by drawing his eyes. Start these by drawing an oval shape. This oval will have an eyelid covering the top, and you can draw its large pupil inside the outline.

A rounded line then surrounds the eye, and you can use another rounded line for the front of the face, leading to the slender muzzle and mouth.

Next, use some irregular lines for the top of his head to make it look like his head is hairy.

Use more rounded lines to create the shapes of his ears and finish with the rest of the outline for his head.

Step 2

Now that you’ve completed his head, you can move on to the beginning of his legs and chest for this part of your Bambi drawing.

Use a few lines for his neck, then extend the back line horizontally to the beginning of his back, and the front line extends to the beginning of his hairy chest.

To finish this step, we’ll use more curved lines to start the beginning of her legs.

It may not be visible here, but later the right leg is raised while the other points straight down. When this step is done, we can move on to step 3!

Step 3

Continuing with this tutorial on how to draw Bambi, now draw his back and front legs.

We’ll start with the legs, and you can start by stretching the left front leg down. This leg will be skinny with some curved sections, so do your best as you draw to follow the reference image closely.

Next, we draw the right leg. As mentioned above, this one is raised and folded. Both will also end up in some small clogs.

Finally, we’re going to widen the spine a bit more. Once it’s expanded, draw a series of small square shapes on its back to show how its fur is styled.

Step 4

In this part of your Bambi drawing, we’ll complete the rest of the outline before adding some final details in the next step.

Draw the rounded tail first, making sure the outline of the tail has small sharp points to make it look furry.

Next, finish by drawing his long, skinny back legs. These are at a pretty brisk angle, so this is another step where you may want to copy the reference image exactly.

Be sure to complete the outline by drawing her belly. This completes the outline, and you can add the finishing touches in the next step.

Step 5

It’s almost time to color your creation, but first, we’ll add some final details in this step of our how-to-draw Bambi guide.

These small details consist mostly of rows of small lines all over the body to make it look even hairier.

After adding these little details, feel free to add your details too!

You can even draw a background to recreate your favorite scene from the movie. What additional details can you think of to complete this picture?

Step 6

This last step of your Bambi drawing is to finish it with some paint!

In our reference image, we’ve replicated the colors in the film, so you can follow along with this image if you want it to look like it does in the film.

We used shades of tan for most of his fur and some beige colors for the fur on his chest, belly, and tail.

Once you know what colors you want to use for the image, you can also decide on the artistic media you will use. This is your chance to show off your creativity, so have fun and see what you can do!
